PR 318 MNL to HKG – PR 319 HKG to MNL
Flying with Philippine Airline is no new to me when flying to the Philippines, and this is my first time to fly using an inter Asia trip. The first trip was not really a good one when it comes to punctuality, although there was a reason why my flight was cancelled during that time. I booked this flight from Orbitz and I got a good deal of $268 which is also a deal excluding tax and travel protection plan of $37.17 which came to $305.17 each person boarding economy.
Can’t beat that for an international air fare, since it was booked a week before the flight. It was a full flight and seat were all taken, and the seat that I requested was not really given to me for some reason.
Departure was right on time, we boarded 40 minutes before the departure and I was surprised because PAL is known for delayed flights and boarding, but that time was different and quite impressive.
The air craft was a AirBus Jet 321 which is kind a small but really nice. The seats are very comfortable although there is not much of a leg room, I was seated at the economy class but still got the full service and accommodation provided by the cabin crew. The aircraft was really clean and they provided fresh tiny pillows and blanket. The temperature feels just fine, perhaps it is because the plane was small and was able to accommodate passengers on board.
No WiFi on board if you are waiting for me to write it down, since it was just a 2 hour flight.
The service was really good, the cabin crews were really friendly and accommodating, what is expected of a flight attendant was really met and the smile are always available that comes with the service. The safety instruction was also shown in video but the demonstration was still done but the cabin crew which adds to the excitement of first time international flyers.
It is expected that there will be passengers that are quite irrational and irate, the one who complains a lot and feels like they own the economy class by being rude to the Flight Attendants. This was handled by one of the cabin crew and pacified her ego.
The food was fine, I can tell that it was some what a fusion of two cultures because of the way it was cooked. Again I was not able to pay attention to what the food was, all I remember was it tastes like a microwaveable food. There were parts that was kinda soggy specially the vegetables. Their cups were smaller than expected, so try asking for a can or bottle to drink instead, this is what I always do.
Again my seat was on the isle, however, probably because it was just a two hour flight, people tend to just wait till they get into their destination and use the loo instead. So the flight went well, smooth and uneventful. The only thing that I miss with Philippine airlines flight was the handing out of Philippine news paper and reading materials.
The physical appearance of the crews I can say was very pleasant and they look professional in their uniform, as expected. The cabin crews have pleasant disposition and are agile when called.
To sum it all up, I enjoyed the flight and I will be using PAL again if the continue with this kind of service.
My rate:
